The 2009 MIA MOTORFEST was again a great success, although we think the car numbers were a bit down because of the long weekend and people having commitments elsewhere. We were still up on numbers compared to last year though. There were allot of great cars/bikes there and I know that allot of the people judging that day were finding it difficult choosing cars, there was so much competition out there. Thanks to all the people that brought along their cars, glad to see people make an effort. The car that took out the show was Peter Piccolo’s beautiful 1959 Corvette it won best car of the day (judges choice) and well deserved.

The other trophies that were taken out were.
Best Ford was taken out by Greg Walker’s 68 mustang coupe. (great engine bay)

Best Holden/Chev went to John Gazzola’s 1958 Holden FC sedan.

Best Dodge/Chrysler went to Mark Thornton’s 1976 VK Chrysler coupe.

Best Aust Muscle car went to Dom Restagno’s 1977 Holden Torana sedan

Best US Muscle car went to Jim Minato’s 1966 Ford Mustang GT350 fastback

Best Ute went to Glen Gilmore’s 1972 Holden HQ 1 tonner

Best Vintage car went to P Armanini’s 1929 Chevy light truck

Best European went to Mavis Anderson’s beautiful red 2008 Cayman S Porsche (and a great lady to boot, very nice to have Mavis there)

Best Japanese was awarded to Edson Bravman’s 1990 Nissan 300ZX sports (a wild machine)

Best Hot Rod was awarded to David McLean’s 1933 Ford 3 window coupe (well deserved)

Best unmodified original went to David Armanini’s 1966 Holden HR ute.

Best Bike was awarded to Torren Sergi’s 2006 Harley Custom Chopper (one wicked ride, great paint job)
